School Uniform
Our school uniform helps create a sense of pride and belonging within our school community. Below you’ll find details of our uniform requirements and links to approved suppliers where you can purchase items.
Years 7-11
Black round-neck sweatshirt with school badge (no hoodies or training tops)
Penweddig polo shirt with school badge
Smart black formal trousers (no leggings or tracksuit bottoms)
Smart tailored black shorts (no sports shorts). Students should wear full-length trousers when sitting external examinations
Smart black formal skirt, ¾ length to the knee
Plain socks
Plain black tights
Plain black shoes (no trainers with logos, boots or canvas shoes)
Sixth Form
Penweddig jumper/cardigan with school badge
White or black shirt/blouse
School tie
PE Kit
Blue t-shirt with school logo

Accessories and Jewellery
We ask that no makeup is worn to school. For jewellery, students may wear one pair of small studs or sleepers in their ears only. Other visible piercings such as nose, eyebrow, lip or tongue piercings are not permitted.

School Essentials Grant
The School Essentials Grant is here to help families with school costs. It’s available for children and young people who are eligible for free school meals (FSM), Children Receiving Care, and those who don’t have access to public funding from reception year to Year 11.
£125 is available for each eligible learner, with £200 for new Year 7 pupils (to help with the additional costs of starting secondary school).
You can use the grant to purchase things like:
School uniform, coats and shoes
School sports kit and sports shoes
IT equipment (laptops and tablets – only when the school cannot lend equipment)
Uniforms for groups like scouts, guides or sports clubs
School bags and writing materials
Specialist equipment for subjects like design and technology
Clothing for school trips and outdoor activities.
The scheme for 2024/25 runs from 1st July 2024 until 31st May 2025.
Who is eligible?
Families receiving free school meals with children from Reception to Year 11
Children receiving care (regardless of their school meal status)
Remember:
You can only apply once per year for each child
If you don’t already receive Free School Meals, complete that form first – we’ll consider your School Essentials Grant at the same time
